Hap and Leonard is an American drama television series based on the characters Hap and Leonard, created by novelist Joe R. Lansdale[1] and adjusted from his series of novels of the same proper name.[2] The series was written and developed by Nick Damici and Jim Mickle, who had previously adjusted Lansdale's Common cold in July and was directed by Mickle.[one] The series premiered on the American cable network SundanceTV on March 2, 2016.[1] [three] The serial received favorable reviews.[4] [5] [6]

The series was renewed for a final six-episode 3rd flavor which premiered on March seven, 2018. The third flavor was inspired by the third novel in the Hap and Leonard series, titled The 2-Bear Mambo.[vii]

On May fourteen, 2018, SundanceTV appear they had cancelled the series after three seasons.[eight] [9]

Filming of the show took place in Baton Rouge, Louisiana,[16] although the series is prepare in 1980s in the fictional town of LaBorde in E Texas.[17] Two of the locations used were the old Woman'due south Hospital [18] and the Celtic Media Middle.[19]

Flavor three (2018) [edit]

The third season is inspired by The 2-Acquit Mambo.[7] The 2nd episode, "Ho-Ho Mambo" was released online at AMC.com and Sundancetv.com a week before the scheduled March 14 on-air premiere.

On Rotten Tomatoes season i has an approval rating of 88% based on reviews from 24 critics.[35]

Tie-in [edit]

A collection called Hap and Leonard made upwardly of previously published short stories (Hyenas, Veil's Visit, Dead Aim) by Joe Lansdale as well as new content was published past Tachyon Publications in March 2016 equally a necktie-in to the TV series.[36]
